President

Gregg Shields

Gregg Shields is president and founder of Fortress Technology Planners. He graduated from the University of Alberta with Honours in Maths, Physics and Computer Science.

Gregg has been a leader in the Canadian IT industry for almost two decades. In that time, he has helped hundreds of business to understand what their true needs are and what technologies can provide value. Gregg’s strong business sense and instinct for value allow him to uncover the risks and opportunities in the clients current IT infrastructure.

As an entrepreneur, Gregg has launched several successful businesses in the automotive, recreation, consumer packaged goods, food distribution and IT industries. In founding Fortress, Gregg established a strong culture of accountability, integrity and customer service that all employees help carry forward.

His interests include bow hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, quadding, welding.

Jonathan Nituch

Jonathan is a bilingual Senior IT Manager with 17 years of technical experience and 12 years of management experience. His career is focused on using strategic planning to align systems with business needs and create structural capital. A Project Management Professional and Certified Business Analysis Professional, he uses several tools and techniques to develop a clear and formal understanding of how businesses work and what they need from technology to be most effective and profitable. Jonathan has managed several large implementation projects of both IT infrastructure and ERP applications.

Jonathan teaches business analysis and project management at Sheridan and Conestoga Colleges.

He enjoys travel, international food, and is an avid music fan.

Russ McCall

Russ McCall is a dynamic, skilled sales professional and public and government relationship manager with almost 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT industry.

Russ recently worked within the Business Processing and Cable industries, as Client Relationship and Business Development Managers in southern Ontario. His responsibilities included increasing his company’s bottom lines while nurturing their existing clientele, and expanding the commercial internet market share in southern Ontario.

Russ spent the majority of his career with one of Canada’s largest Telecommunications company, where his most recent position included the dual roles of Deputy Director of Community Development and Deputy Director of Government Relations. In this capacity he led Community Teams in southern Ontario’s Greater Toronto area, supporting various business and community events in Peel Region and identifying new business opportunities for the company. In addition, he acted as a prime liaison with the Province of Ontario’s Ministries of Health and Long Term Care and Education.

Russ has been committed to the Mississauga Community in both his personal and professional life for more than 20 years. He is the past President and Chairman of the Mississauga Board of Trade, and a past Director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel. His interests include fishing, canoeing, travelling and gardening.

Senior Network / Systems Analyst

Anton Ehrenreich

Since 1994 Anton has worked on IT projects from administering Citibank’s North American network for HP to database development for public & industrial EMS. He holds numerous certifications from Novell, Microsoft, Cisco & CompTIA as well as an associate degree in computer science from Excelsior College (Albany, NY).

Anton spent several years as a professional day-trader, is an active member of the Project Management Institute and a former member of the Alberta College of Paramedics. Anton is pursuing a B.Sc. in computer science and enjoys dog handling, studying physiology, target shooting, coaching soccer, Xbox & Wii and is very slowly writing several screenplays. He and his wife, Carla, share a busy and happy home life with their three daughters and a hound.

David Irons

David received his MCSE in 1998, and immediately jumped into the IT field. David has since honed his IT skills with ISPs, Oil and Gas, PC Manufacturing, and Telecommunications. He has played major roles in developing IT infrastructure and capacity planning. He takes pride in ensuring all of his efforts are personalized to the needs of the company and individual. David enjoys camping, photography, volunteering in search and rescue, and spending time with this daughter and fiancé.

Giovanni Chajon

Giovanni wrote his first piece of code when he was around 12 years old, worked in IT since 1994 and by that time he was already familiar with IBM as/400 systems, got his first Microsoft Certification almost fourteen years, now a part of the small percentage of techs in the world that hold both an MCSA and a MCPD at the same time along with several specializations and Comptia certifications. He obtained his B.S. in computer science from Univesidad Francisco Marroquin and his MBA from Universidad Mesoamericana, speaks three languages and has integral experience on the IT field from working in development, communications, system integrations and migrations to managing tech support teams, doing business analysis and even project management for software factories.
Giovanni also has more than five years experience with Linux operating systems and is familiar with open source solutions from implementing an MTA or database to an application server, has development experience in various programming languages and had the joy of seeing his VB, C#, Java and PHP code come to life in several projects.
In his new life in Canada he enjoys his Toastmaster meetings, exploring apple and open source technologies as well as tinkering on Ubuntu (his favorite Linux distribution).

Naveed Rana

Naveed Rana

Naveed has over thirteen years experience in the IT industry. Through his education and progressive experience, Naveed has accumulated strong analytical and technical skills necessary to manage and support variety of networks and systems. He enjoys translating business needs into IT solutions, and has managed several IT projects over the years.

Naveed’s client-focused approach, exceptional customer service skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for technology have helped him achieve near perfect scores in the client satisfaction surveys, year after year.

Naveed has a master’s degree in Mass Communication, and a diploma in Computer Networking from Seneca College. He also holds Cisco CCNA, and CompTIA Network+ and A+ certifications. He is currently working towards his CCNP and Enterprise Server Administrator certifications.

Joseph Gillis

Joseph may have graduated from Lakehead University in 1998, with a double major in English and Psychology, but his heart has always belonged to the I.T. world. Now, an A+ certified technician and a self proclaimed computer enthusiast, he continues to exercise his interest in computers by frequently modifying and tweaking systems. He loves to explore new operating systems and technology. With his many years of experience as a business purchaser and passion for computers, he is a valuable member of the Fortress Sales team. Joseph enjoys playing his guitar and lightening the mood with his sense of humour.

Office Administrator

Lisa Clarke

Lisa has been helping companies control their accounting and administrative needs for 10 years. Lisa completed her accounting diploma in Winnipeg and then started her career working with a chartered accountant.

More recently she has specialized and worked with IT companies in Calgary.

Lisa’s has three children and husband Bill. Right now their family seems to spend most of their time in Calaway Park, and visiting with friends.
